The WO’s and Sgts Mess was pleased to host Lt Roly Gordon and his family for the first time in nearly 15 years at First Monday.
Sgt Rod Inglis of the band is at Azalea Gardens recovering from a stroke whilst Maj Fred Gouws is ill at home.
The Regiment also extends its congratulations to Lt (SANR) Sonnett de Jager on her recent nuptials.
There are currently 22 members on various courses and two members on detached duties with Durban Regiment.
At the recent NCRA League Shoot at Ladysmith, shottists from the Regiment excelled with WO Archie Smythe, Lt Eben Botha, Cpl Arnold Formann, Lt Martinus Willemse, Maj Edric Pascoe and Sgt Gill Sage filling the first 6 positions. WO Archie Smythe was the first Master, Maj Edric Pascoe and Sgt Gill Sage finishing first and second in the Veterans Category and Sgt Gill Sage also finished 1st in the Ladies Category. Congratulations to all. The Regiment wishes all the shottists attending Nationals a successful National Championships.
The regiment hosted the Army Conventional Reserve Forces Forum with 10 Officers Commanding and RSMs attending.
A team from the Regiment competed in the Highland Games with some success. Rfn T.O. Ntuli won Gold in the Kilted Mile, Sgt Eric Moorcroft earned silver and bronze in Archery. Rfns B.M. Dlamini and L.S. Mbongwa won Gold in the Colours Relay with the Regimental Team earning an Overall Second in the Games.
On Friday 20 September 2013 the 100 Capital Classic a 2 mile lapped course will be staged from the Drill Hall
